Workplace & Supplier Diversity

An international success story

Diversity & Inclusion

“The progress we make promoting diversity, whether as a corporation or individual, offers a shining example that each of us has the power to make a difference.”

                                                  - Jerome Shaw, Executive Vice President & Co-Founder

At Volt, we believe that every company and every community benefits when the full range of individual characteristics, ideas, and experiences are included. This belief drives the Company’s core philosophy that a diverse, talented work force and supplier base are essential to being an innovator and leader in today’s global marketplace.

Supplier diversity

Since 1989, Volt’s Minority, Women, and Disabled Veteran Owned Business Enterprise (M/W/DVBE) Program has been securing procurement and subcontracting opportunities with principals who are representative of the ethnic, gender, and protected groups in the communities we serve.

Our network of Associate Vendors includes more than 400 diversity partners, many with valuable niche specialization. Our partnerships with these vendors enable sharing of data and best practices to benefit both parties, as well mentoring opportunities to help specialized providers grow into more competitive and successful organizations.

We set and achieve aggressive goals for diversity spend, and help our clients achieve their own diversity spend objectives, ensuring consistent compliance with EEOC and OFCCP requirements.

Workforce Diversity

With over a quarter million employee starts each year at organizations across five continents, Volt is committed to tapping the rich diversity of human potential and providing an environment of inclusion and excellence.  In our experience, creating a diverse workplace isn’t just a business responsibility, it’s a business advantage.

Volt has also developed specialty seminars on workforce diversity for hiring managers and corporate executives which can be made available to Volt’s clients as a value-added service. These seminars discuss the advantages of an inclusive workplace and the essential elements of an effective diversity program.

Partnerships & Alliances

Volt cultivates relationships with key organizations that represent the array of diverse demographics in our communities. These partnerships enable both parties to monitor and respond to market and industry trends. In addition, these valued alliances enable us to develop and improve our candidate outreach and provide client access to a talent pool reflective of the diversity in the qualified labor market.

On the national level, we are proud to participate in a broad range of excellent organizations and programs, including:

  • National Minority Supplier Development Council
  • Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
  • IT Senior Management Forum
  • Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC)
  • US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
  • Annual Black/Asian/ Hispanic Executive Forum
  • DiversityBusiness.com Forum
  • Women Presidents Educational Organization (WPEO)
  • Diversity Supplier Forums

Volt works continuously to ensure that diversity is an integral element of our company and our business processes. We recognize diversity as a critical differentiator in the global marketplace, enabling us to attract and retain exceptional employees and provide clients with unsurpassed service at each of our offices worldwide.
